Conservation Projects
Our conservation projects are at the heart of our mission to protect and enhance the woodland ecosystems around the country. These initiatives are carefully designed to address immediate threats to biodiversity, combat deforestation, and support sustainable management of forest resources.
Our Constitution
1. Name: The name of the organisation shall be Battle for Trees.
2. Aims and Objectives: Battle for Trees is a community-driven organisation committed to conservation through education, advocacy, and direct action. Our objectives include:
- Planting woodland, orchards, and street trees to enhance biodiversity and combat climate change.
- Protecting existing trees through advocacy and policy engagement.
- Establishing community nurseries to grow resilient, local tree stock.
- Educating and empowering the community to foster a culture of conservation.
3. Membership: Membership is open to all individuals who support the aims and objectives of Battle for Trees. Members are encouraged to participate in meetings, events, and conservation activities.
4. Governance: The organisation shall be governed by a committee elected by the members. The committee shall consist of the following roles:
- Chairperson
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Other roles as deemed necessary
The committee shall meet regularly to oversee operations, plan events, and ensure the organisation’s objectives are met.
5. Activities: To achieve our objectives, Battle for Trees shall engage in the following activities:
- Organising tree-planting events in Battle and surrounding areas.
- Campaigning for policies that protect trees and green spaces.
- Running a community tree nursery to provide locally grown tree stock.
- Hosting educational workshops and outreach programs.
6. Funding and Resources: The organisation shall raise funds through grants, donations, fundraising events, and any other lawful means. All funds shall be used to support the mission of Battle for Trees.
7. Meetings: Regular meetings shall be held to discuss projects, plan activities, and make decisions.
8. Amendments: This constitution may be amended by a majority vote of members at a general meeting.
9. Dissolution: If Battle for Trees is dissolved, any remaining funds and resources shall be distributed to a local environmental charity or organisation with similar objectives.
