What’s New This Month
- Community Tree Nursery (CTN):
- Battle for Trees is thrilled to announce the start of our Community Tree Nursery! This new development will play a vital role in our mission by providing disease-free, locally grown trees for our planting projects. We will invite you to join us in growing these young trees as soon as we are up and running, and we need all hands-on deck!
- Seed and Sapling Collection:
- Our members have been busy gathering seeds and saplings to plant in the nursery. Your collections will be the foundation of this project, helping us to cultivate a diverse, resilient population of native trees
- New Batch of 500 Whips for Planting:
- We’re excited to share that we’ve received our first batch of 500 whips (young tree seedlings) ready for planting! If you would like to suggest suitable locations for a hedgerow, please let us know by replying to this post or emailing us. Battle for Trees will review each suggested site and work with landowners to seek permission.
Dates for Your Diary
• 3rd December – Tree Planting at Coronation Gardens:
Join us for an exciting planting day at Coronation Gardens! This event will include both orchard planting and a Miyawaki woodland, so we’ll need plenty of helping hands to make it a success.
• 5th December, 7 pm – Battle for Trees Meeting:
Our December meeting will feature a local expert discussing tree care and ecosystem restoration. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more and get involved!
We look forward to seeing you at these events! In the meantime, please feel free to send us ideas and suggestions at [email protected].
