This summer, we’ve got a calendar full of opportunities for the community to connect, learn, and have fun while supporting our local trees. Whether you're a seasoned tree lover or simply interested in joining in there’s something for everyone.

We’re thrilled to share some exciting progress from the Battle for Trees Community Tree Nursery!

Over the past season, our dedicated volunteers have planted over 1,600 tree whips, carefully selected to thrive in local conditions and support biodiversity in our area. These young trees are the heart of our future community planting projects, and we couldn’t have done it without the commitment shown by our members.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have land generously provided by a local farmer, giving our nursery a home in the beautiful countryside of North Weald. One of our members recently summed it up perfectly:

"It's such an amazing and peacful location I love coming up here!"

Thanks to the ongoing care and attention of our volunteers, these young saplings are being regularly watered, weeded, and nurtured even through the driest days. Their hard work ensures the trees stay strong and healthy until they are ready to be planted out in the community as part of our future greening and rewilding efforts.

What’s Next?

These 1,600 trees are just the beginning. As we continue to grow the nursery, we’ll be adding more native species to support our local environment and provide lasting benefits for generations to come.
